There are millions of bloggers who build a blog and then expect to make money without doing anything else, for me the best way to get traffic and start making money is to start building relations and network with other successful bloggers on your niche, this can be done in many ways but the most important are blog commenting, guest posting and following them on social media networks…

Great commentary! There’s a lot more to it than simply putting a blog together. Frequency is one point I would query though – there’s no point being frequent if you are in a niche area. The value of what you are saying will largely determine the frequency.

Great post. Content and design are critical to a successful blog, and both social networks and blog commenting are vital to generate traffic. I post links to my blog and website updates regularly on Twitter, Facebook, and Google +, which funnels traffic to my sites. Traffic has to be developed. I know too many bloggers who believe that if they write it, “they will come.” Even search engines won’t help if the blogger isn’t social.

Kim October 6, 2011 at 6:11 am

Great post! Frequent update to a website blog is really an important task. You need to show interaction with your commenter for them to be more visible at your blogs. Through this, conversation and interaction with one another is alive. Letting people you are listening and you can appreciate their comments and not ignoring are what they like.

That was an interesting post, Kim. Thank you.
Keeping the content up-to date and interesting all the time can be a little difficult, but needs to be done. Facebook “likes” and Google Plus needs to be in every blog post at a bare minimum. I have noticed an increase in traffic with more Google +’s. I have only recently started taking connecting in other blogs. I must admit that I have learned a lot of new things ever since I got into it.

Article Block is a situation when the person does not know what to write about? What will be the next post that should be updated? Usually it occurs with content writers, creative journalists.

During these times they are practically out of ideas, usually frustrated lol. To get them back on track they can indulge in reading good quality posts and articles to regain their lost skill. For bloggers, these times are pretty bad cause they don’t update their blogs. This might range for over a week!

I agree with your points, especially when it comes to social media and forums. If you want to get traffic to your website, and search engines aren’t giving you much, then you have to go where the people are. Get some content with links to your site in front of people who are already taking about your market, and the traffic will come.
