5 Reasons Why Most Bloggers Fail

Post image for 5 Reasons Why Most Bloggers Fail

Blogging is very easy but if you come online with the impression that blogging is very easy and you need to do next to nothing then you are most definitely destined to fail.

Becoming a blogging success is not just about what we say but mostly about what we do. This post will be talking about 5 reasons why most bloggers fail.

They Don’t Believe in Themselves

One golden rule of living is that you are what you think i.e. you are a product of what you think. No matter how you try, if your believe is that you are a failure, then you are a failure and no matter how you fail, if you believe that you are a success then you are a success.

Many bloggers spoil their future right from their mindset, they simply don’t believe in themselves.

You should not believe that problogging or being a blogging success is reserved for some set of people, if those people can, then you too can.

They Are NOT Following Their Passion

Many bloggers are not being fueled by their passion, they just start a blog in any niche they like and very soon they will begin to get bored of that niche.

Every successful blogger I have seen is passionate for his/her niche. If you don’t have that passion, simply develop it now.

Having passion for your niche is very important because it is the driving force to your success, it is what keeps you going despite all odds.

The blogging road is not smooth, it is very rugged and if you don’t have passion you will not scale that road successfully.

They Expect Everything Now!

Another great reason why most bloggers fail is because they want everything now, they simply don’t believe in the future.

You can’t (and you are not supposed to) get everything now, there is a time for everything.

Successful bloggers see more than now, the see far into the future. You shouldn’t just expect everything now but you should work hard in order to get the best in the future.

They Don’t have a Goal

Many bloggers simply don’t know what the future will be like, they are just expecting anything – and anything is nothing.

Successful bloggers have a plan, they have goals, they plan for and know the future.

Nothing should determine the future for you, you only should be the determining factor behind your future.

You shouldn’t just have any goals, you should have great goals that has a time-frame.

Having a goal helps you work hard towards achieving it, not having a goal makes you wander.

They Lack FOCUS!

This is one very important thing many bloggers lack, and that is why they fail.

Focus is very important to your online success because it is a sign of you knowing what you are doing.

You don’t need to have two blogs when you are not successful with one, it is an absolute waste of time. Focus all your time and energy on one and one blog only, once that blog is a success you can then move on to another.

You will also discover that many successful bloggers have only one blog which built a name for them, and that is because they focused on that blog.

Becoming a blogging success is more said than done and the above are 5 common errors most bloggers commit, fix them and you are on your way to blogging success.

Hi Onibalusi,

Excellent points. I agree with all points. I think these 5 points apply to every web business, an not just blogging.

A web business takes time, and many believe they will see instant results, which is a myth.

Having a measurable goal is very important too, so that you can see your progress, and take action.

Kindest,
Nabeel

PS: Congratulations on the new Technshare logo. I really like the new technshare logo.

Hey Onibalusi,
I don’t have any other option but to agree with these 5 points completely.
I think not having a goal is the most common mistake among bloggers. Some bloggers have a vague idea about their goals, but they are not sure whether they will ever reach that goal…and that’s where your first point comes in – they don’t believe in themselves…and finally they lose the passion and focus.

Very good points. I think the only thing I would add is not building a community around their blog. If you don’t take the time to engage your readers chances are not great that they will stick around to listen to what you have to say.

Great list of reasons; I think most of us can be guilty of some or all of them at one point of our blogging career or another.

I’d like to also add how important it actually is to narrow down your niche.

Too many bloggers I see blog about everything under the sun because they really don’t know what their passion is or what a good market is.

Thanks for the post!

Excellent points indeed. I think most bloggers fail because they enter in with unrealistic expectations and think they will cashing in soon. It takes years to make the big money in the blogging game and most people do not want to put in the hard work.

Howdy Onibalusi

You right my bro..people do try to have two or three blogs and haven’t even gotten anything out the first one.

Here is my list that can help anyone when it comes to moving on and starting another blog when the first blog achieves the following.

1. Break the top 100k mark in traffic ranking
2. Have over 1000 subscribers
3. Making you over $3k a month

These are the numbers I reach before I even think about opening another door to the blogging world.

Thanks Onibalusi

As long as I know that blogging is not so easy, the main problem that I face is to update my blog frequently by publishing new articles. But I do not get much time for write article for my blog. Other work relevant to blogging is not so tough.

It’s very helpful to have a roadmap of where you’d like to take your blog but also what you need to do in the meantime.

Set milestones and reward yourself when you reach your goals. Couple this with passion and you have a recipe for success.

This is a great post and very true, one reason why I wrote my recent article about your blog being a big deal. You should be confident in what you write about and this comes with writing about what you know and are passionate about. Goals are always important and make sure you set measurable goals not “hypothetical” ones. Goals should be able to be tracked and have a way to clearly show progression toward them.

Very often i have seen that new blogger’s try to get everything overnight and that’s where they fail. You won’t get rich or tons of visitors or reputation over night it comes gradually.
