Because it has become so easy to get a new blog people have joined the blogging train. The general behavior of such people is that they blog for a couple of months or maybe up to six months and when they don’t see the ‘trendy’ results they expected, they want out. My belief is such people can never make it in blogging and they would find it difficult to succeed elsewhere. Take that from me.
I am not a pro blogger (yet) but I have been into blogging long enough to come across such people. It’s never the best of times having to discuss blogging with them. They complain about this and that blogger running a high priced program and this blogger not having any form of advertising on his blog. They are insatiable.
My point here is that if a person has enough time to whine about other blogs he probably doesn’t have a good one himself. So if you are one of such people try to stop it or you would be creating great damage to your blog. I have written 7 reasons below why your blog may not grow. I would love to know what you feel at the end.
1. You Whine About Other Blogs
This is obvious already. If you have enough time to deride and poke fingers at other bloggers when you should be working on yours, your blog can’t grow. Focus on your primary objective which is to build a great blog and you will get better results.
2. You Want To Do All Things
If you are both the web designer and also the virtual assistant of your blog something is very wrong. Trying to be everything would limit the impact you have on each area of your blog. Delegate tasks others can do to others and focus on what you alone can do.
3. You Blog about Everything
If you write about all things ranging from credit card deals to dog training right on the same blog, it would be difficult for you to convince me you know what you’re doing. If I love credit card deals but I have no interest in dogs I would feel left out when you begin to talk about dogs. It would be better to have two separate blogs to cater for each audience.
4. You Post Once a Month (Quality is Better Right?)
If you’re such a perfectionist that your posts take a whole month before they are anywhere near getting published you would be missing a lot of opportunities; this is different with people who have a significant following already. These guys probably published between 3-5 posts every week when they were in your stage. They’ve worked hard for the success they now enjoy. Now is the time for you to work, delay your gratification.
5. You Keep Repeating the Same Point in Every Post
If you keep saying the same thing you said last year I would be bored by now; I don’t know if I would still visit your blog as constantly as I did back then. I want something different and intriguing every time I read a new post on your blog. Give me fresh content.
6. You Have 70 Twitter Followers, You Follow ONLY One Person!
Your social media tactics suck. People follow you on Twitter but you don’t follow them back, they are your friends on Facebook and they “Like” your blog but you don’t repay the favour. Left to me, I would find someone else with whom I can build a real relationship with not someone who has 200 Followers and feels he has arrived.
7. Only Your Buddies Knows Your Blog URL. It’s A Secret…
If you have a blog and you are not into any form of promotion whatsoever how do you expect people to get to know about it? Should they find a way to beat their paths to your door? Even if I come across it by chance I would end up forgetting it exists – there are loads of great blogs out there who are begging for my attention. Why should I remember yours?
So guys here you have 7 reasons why I feel your blog may not grow. If you have suggestions or you know other reasons please feel free to leave a comment at the end of this post. And don’t forget that I don’t like whiners! Lol

Haha – great points, Emmanuel! It’s frustrating – I think there have been so many “Get Rich Blogging” products sold that people think that blogging = automatic cash. In fact, building up a good authority blog is one of the most difficult paths to making money online, so I think you made some good points about how to cut through the BS and get down to business to succeed with blogging.
