If your content is original, relevant and well written you will naturally get traffic. But more exposure can never hurt and for bloggers without a mass following of subscribers they should submit their articles to popular social bookmarking sites to get noticed. For those seeking to expose their blog posts to a larger audience, here are 6 ways to promote your blog to a larger audience.
#1. Social Media. It’s simply an incredible viral means to drive a large amount of sustained traffic to any website over a period of time. I try to submit every article to social media websites like Twitter, StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit, Delicious.
#2. Email other Bloggers. Creating a good network of contacts within your blogging niche is essential if you want to grow your sites audience. This is something that I only do on selected posts. I usually send a mail to 20-30 bloggers and almost all of them respond to my mail by giving a positive feedback.
#3. Discussion Forums. If you’ve got a post that you think relates strongly to something that another blogger has written about or that is the topic of discussion on a forum – leave a link to your own post. I’m usually active on Digital Point, Webmaster-Talk and Site Point. I got 656visits from Digital Point for a single Post (SEO – 20 ways to build backlinks).
#4. Social Bookmarking Sites. Using Social Bookmarking Sites is really a great way to boost traffic, backlink, marketing to your websites and your online profits. More bookmark links of your blog posts means more popularity of your blog posts. This method is explained in detail in one of my posts on 30+ Inspirational Social Bookmarking Sites.
#5. Blog Commenting. The comment itself should add value, be right on topic and contribute to the conversation. The more you interact with the blogger, the more they’ll notice you.
#6. Advertise your blog post. Rather than advertising the front page of your blog a high quality post can actually be the perfect landing page for an advertisement. If your budget is relatively small than i’ll suggest you to use StumbleUpon where you can actually start an organic rush of traffic to a good blog post.
