There are approximately over 150 Million blogs online and the numbers are rising rapidly with a new blog being launched every half a second. So one may think as a blogger, “How do I stand out as a blogger, how do I get noticed when there are so many bloggers in the blogosphere?” Trust me when I say that these are questions that haunted me when I started blogging. However, there are quite a few ways to imprint your very own unique mark in the minds of your readers and excel as a Pro Blogger.
I will show you how with these easy to follow steps. They will be easy once you have an undying passion for what you blog about.
1. Do Your Research
Before you embark on any journey you need to take the time to study your environment to develop a strategy for effectively operating in it. Many bloggers today start blogging about internet marketing, SEO, making money blogging and yet they don’t have a deep understanding of what they’re blogging about. So their content just seem like general statements without any new perspectives that can help other bloggers achieve success.
Knowing a topic like the back of your hand is the best way to produce content that sticks in your readers’ minds. Your originality will flow like a river.
2. Unique & Beautiful Blog Design
I know that not all of us have the skill or time to design and develop our own blog themes. So thank God we have access to lots of nicely designed free themes as well as professionally built premium themes that can do everything you want and more. However, I’m sure you don’t want your blog to look like 100 other blogs. How will you stand-out as a pro-blogger if you look like everyone else? Or why choose a theme that is poorly designed and confuses your readers? I spent weeks searching for a theme that is right for me and allows for a beautiful design. I then finally settled with the Thesis Theme Framework and customized it.
A beautiful and user friendly design can mean the difference between your success or failure as a blogger. Take the time to hunt down that theme that will do wonders for your readers’ eyes.
3. Deliver Content in a Unique Format
From time to time we will need to take inspiration or information from what we have learned from other bloggers in our field as well as other professionals to create content for our readers. That’s just the way it is, but what’s the point if we are writing the same exact thing in the same exact way as others are writing? Whatever we learn and decide to write about we need to deliver that information from our own unique perspectives. In writing about your industry, express general ideas and developments in your own unique style. Try adding what you think will happen within a couple of years or share the experiences that you may have had with that particular topic and don’t copy unless absolutely necessary for the post.
4. Command Influence – Become an Authority In Your Field
Go the extra mile to seek out information that is new, super useful and hardly ever blogged about and you will definitely grab your readers’ attention. Study your niche, day in, day out and aim to become the “Guru” in your field. You can’t become a guru in a couple of weeks like some internet marketers claim to be. It takes time, dedication and lots of studying. Your traffic will flow when you achieve this status and freely offer your unique knowledge through your posts.
5. Blog About Your Passion
If you can develop a passion for what you blog about then your battle is half won. Even if it takes 3 years for you to hit your aspired mark, your passion will keep you running even at your worst times. Without passion you will quickly become tired of what you’re blogging about and that means, less money, less traffic and a smaller lifetime as a blogger.
If you haven’t found your passion, start taking a deep look within yourself and ask the questions; “Do I see myself doing this for the rest of my life? Would I do this for free? Do I get tired of what I do easily?” These are just a few questions that will help you conduct the self analysis to start blogging about your passion.
6. Dare To Be Original!!
I can’t stress this enough, Dare To Be Original! Be original in the way you speak, write, walk, run, ride, drive, design and how you deliver your content. Maybe some of that was beyond the scope of blogging but originality can quickly turn you into the next Darren Rowse. So, Just Do It!
Following the tips above will definitely get you started on the road to blogging success. These are the qualities I see in all truly successful bloggers and have adapted them in my own blogging journey, which I must say has been a blast so far. So, Just Do It! ![]()

Good points. Great, original content is what’s going to give you the edge and get you noticed – anything else is pretty much just packaging.
Hey Andy, thanks for commenting.
Although the “packaging should be as beautiful as possible” content will definitely be the determining factor.

Like the other commenters I really enjoyed your article. I actually ditched a blog I started before and began with a new site simply because I wanted to start over with a professional image and polished interface, a specific domain name rather than something that started as an experiment and then grew into something. Thankfully, due to redirects and close followers, I haven’t really lost any traffic as a result.
Voted up on BlogEngage

That’s the same thing that happened to me. My first blog was a huge experiment and I had soon realized that my choice in domain name was way off for what I wanted to accomplish.

Unique articles especially with awesome titles can grab a reader’s attention but if they realize the content is useless then they won’t come back.

Nice article. The first and foremost thing is the blogger should be truthful to himself.
Hey Sujith, thanks for reading.
A lot of bloggers are trying to get into what they think will make money, whether it is their passion or not. They don’t realize that blogging about their passion has greater potential to make money and offers a lot more fulfillment and satisfaction than anything else.

Originality is a must have and also putting write type of content. I really lough when I saw a blogger who himself don’t have a influenced blog talk about SEO when his own site not properly SEO optimized. I think, most of the blogger come this day not for passion but actually influenced by a slogan – “modify others knowledge, put the old thing in new bottle and then try your luck in Adsense and bingo!”
Nice explanation Robyn.

Hey Arafat, thanks for your thoughts.
The entire industry is making a massive shift and those bloggers who think that adsense will always be there to make them easy money are mistaken. Pretty soon if you don’t have a quality site then your readership is going to be mediocre and that means less earnings. Especially since google is now paying huge attention to the true quality and authority of sites.
These types of bloggers as you mention will fade away if they don’t change.
.-= Robyn from Sam’s Web Guide´s last blog ..24 Deadly Signs of a Failing Blog =-.
Yes! You are right Robyn. But I know, most of the new blogger never going to think that way and after someday of blogging they will realize is just lose of money.

Whilst everything you say is true even if you do all that you may never get noticed without doing such things as keyword research and stuff so that the search engines can pick you out from the crowd.
Personally I prefer to read other blogs and leave constructive comments so that other who read them are inspired enough to visit my blog. Once there I hope they like it enough to comment and to come back for more.

I think in coming years blogging will be an easy way to make our online presence and that will increase competition too, At that time only market research and delivery of quality content will be the key factor for any blogger.
@Robyn your this research is one of them.
Thanks.
Hey thanks for commenting.
Blogging is flooded right now with lots of people writing about all kinds of stuff. What happens is that when quantity increases, the need for higher quality goes up too and the blogs that deliver poor content with poor execution with die out.

Nice Tips.useful for new bloggers..
A good post, to discourage people thinking that you can make fame and fortune overnight, as a lot of marketeers selling you their products or affiliate products would like you to believe. As you say, write about something you know about (or do good research, the Web makes it easy) and be passionate and original. My blog has only been going 5 weeks yet I had visitors from 14 countries this week and lots of interest. Best wishes, Peter Clifford
