Yep, the tongue-twisting title says it all – there are many ways that you can get lots of twitter followers fast! However, I would like to share with you one of the most effective ways if you are just getting started on twitter, or if you are looking to have a larger follow-base. Remember, the key to success isn’t just to have lots of followers, but lots of targeted followers. So how can you do this? Let me explain.

  1. Have A Nice Picture

    Poor Twitter Photo

No Bad Twitter Photos - Get Personal!

People like to get to known people – so show a picture of yourself. Look happy. Nobody wants to follow a grumpy-looking person! People like positivity; not negativity.

  2. Make A Background.

You will stand out from your competition if you have a custom background. Sizes are usually around 1280×1024. Be sure to put a picture, description, and contact information on the left side of the page so it is visible to all. Be sure it looks professional. You don’t want people to avoid adding you because it looks cheesy.

  3. Compelling Description.

Describe yourself.  Be personal. Even if this is an account for a small business, tell people why you have started this business and what your goal is. People love stories. People love people. But they don’t like profiles that are secretive.

  4. Start Following!

After completing the above steps, it is now time to start following people. Not just anybody, but targeted people who potentially want what you have to offer. I have created a video that will help you get targeted twitter followers fast. It is about 9 minutes. Listen to every detail because there is some really good stuff in there! The site I use to follow and flush is Tweepi.com. Remember:

    • Only follow about 750 per day. Twitter may not like you to follower too many more than that. They may think you are spam.
    • Follow only people who have the potential to have interest in what you have to offer (explained in video)
    • Follow only people who are active on twitter. If they have posted 1 day ago or sooner, then I will add them.
  5. Send A Personal Message.

If you haven’t caught the hint, yet – people like people. They want to know people. So be personal! Once someone has started to follow you, send them a personal message. I like to send them to a link on my blog of me talking. The video basically shares a story with them. It usually makes them happy that they stopped by. This is a good thing. Now they have started to like and trust you. You are no longer a crazy spammer that just wants money or a re-tweet from them! You are a real person!

    • You are only allowed about 100 or so personal messages per hour or 2.  If you send a lot – they may block your sending capabilities for an hour. Then you can do it again.
    • Be sure to send only true value. Never sell. Never convince. Just value or a friendly hello & welcome!
  6. Flush The Un-followers!

There will always be people that are not going to follow you back. The reason for this is not important in this training. Just know that they are out there; and you should care less. There are plenty of fish in the sea. Log in to Tweepi about 12 t0 24 hours after following, and delete only those who have made a tweet since you have added them. This tells you that they are now tweeting and have avoided following you back. Flush them.

    • Never flush people who are following you. For example; if you follow 1000 people and they all follow you back. You then log in to Tweepi and un-follow them so your account has authority (more followers than following). This is BAD. Only un-follow the people who are un-following you (in mass quantities)! Twitter may ban you.
  7. Repeat Process!

Do it all over again. Add, say hello, flush the un-followers. Repeat until you have the amount of followers you are looking to have!

&bnsp;

Twitter is a great tool, as you know. You can drive tons of traffic to a particular site, on epic proportions! Remember if you aren’t online, you are missing out on the largest part of your business. The more followers you have, the greater your tweeting ‘power’.  I hope you now know how to get more targeted twitter followers – fast; so get out there and start driving traffic to your site! Good luck!

Hi Brock,

Great Twitter tips! I have used Tweepi for a while now and it’s really great for both adding new followers as well as flushing those who don’t. I love the feature where when you tweet about Tweepi it doubles the amount of people listed on the page. That makes it a lot faster to follow or unfollow.

Thanks for sharing these great tips!

I have used such process like adding people and then deleting all those who are not following us but I keep posting new updates of my niche from all top sources and got1k+ followers. I think its better to get small list of followers but they must be interested in your niche. So whenever you tweet something , they visit the link and go through it.

Hey Atulperxl,

I’m not so sure a small list is the best way. More followers that are interested in what you have, the better. I would much rather have 1000+ followers that are dedicated than 100 followers that are dedicated. If you can obtain targeted followers who are interested in what you have, there is a better chance that they will click on your links as well as pass them along.

I feel that it is so important to build relationships with them as well. I try to send a personal message to each and every once of them. This increases the chance that they will click your link or pass it on.

I do feel this method is a great way to connect to people. I have met a lot of people and drove a lot of traffic back to my site in the process. They key is to add only people who may be interested in your niche. And say a simple hello – let them know you are appreciative of their follow.

Hope this helps? Best of luck! :)

Hey Sam,

Agreed. I feel a personal message is crucial. I try to send it to everyone that follows me. It is a copied and pasted message – it starts with saying “hey…thanks for the follow!” But it is still effective.

If you start doing this BE SURE not to try and sell them on what you are offering. Simply just say hello and be a friend. Let them know that you are there if they have questions about your niche. Give them a smiley face, too. It’s all about building relationships and friendships :) .

Best of luck!

Never know twitter can follow 750 per day, I mean that’s hell lot and I don’t even have time to reach 200, the best I follow was about 150 or so per day to those target people who are in my niche. But anyway, thanks for your great share especially sending a personal message to a video introducing yourself, that’s one up for you!

Brock Blohm August 30, 2011 at 4:09 pm

Excellent video on Twitter, I really liked the video. Using Twitter is something I am now adding to my daily actions….. Question do you use multiple Twitter accounts and if so any recommendations on avoiding having ones accounts from being blocked. This has not happened to me but I have heard of it occurring with folks that got a little too aggressive.

Brock Blohm September 2, 2011 at 8:34 pm

Hey Chuck!

My recommendation is to stay away from multiple accounts. I have heard too many stories of people losing their accounts. I couldn’t imagine. Too much time and effort has gone in it to lose it. The only way I would feel comfortable is if I had 2 different e-mail account set up and was on each account from a separate computer. Always use computer A with account A. Never cross computer A with account B. That would be my tip. I cannot say, however, if this would help… Cross your fingers you don’t lose one (or both accounts) Good luck!

Hey Jasmine!

Twitter picture is just one of the variables. Great yet concise description. Nice looking page/profile. And you want to focus on building relationships. You can have one billion followers, but if nobody likes or trusts you, nobody will re-tweet your links or even visit them. Relationships are key! :)
Good luck & enjoy!

Great Basis for using Twitter effectively, Brock – thanks for laying it out so clearly.

I use Tweepi too, it’s a great free tool for un-following and following in a strategic manner.

As you pointed out, un-following inactive usersis a good idea. I usually unfollow spammy or ‘x-rated’ type accounts as well…

It’s worth following and keeping a selection of ‘industry leaders’ and ‘social influencers’ even if they don’t follow you though – some people follow the followers of such folks, so it’s good to have your name come up when you’re associated with them…

Also – don’t forget to put your keywords in the bio box for Twitter search!

I haven’t placed keywords in my bio box, however. Good idea. Never really thought about that. Thanks for the tips and sharing it with all of the readers.
