Technshare Monthly Report 5: July 2010

To update those of you who are new to Technshare, each month I share the exact websites that sent traffic to technshare.

Well July has definitely been a very exciting  month for Technshare! I have had a very exciting ride and am extremely happy with the results I have achieved.

Overall Traffic

  • Pageviews: 17,981
  • Avg time on Site: 3 mins 14  seconds
  • Bounce Rate: 26.12%

Blog Updates

2. Added Some Badges for Authors/Contributors

3. Popup Domination Plugin – This was the most useful update i’ve ever done to increase my newsletter subscribers.

I use an awesome plugin called Popup Domination created by my friend Michael Dunlop to create really gorgeous looking lightbox optin forms with just a few clicks. It increased my opt-ins by 250%-300%.

Some of the changes I’ve made have been recent and others I implemented month’s ago and just never discussed them before. Please share some suggestions below.

I like the way you show your blog stats every month, it’s real helpful for people like me, I’ve a somewhat simliar blog and it lets me see how I’m doing in relation to blogs like yours.

I’ve got similar traffic figures, but my bounce rate is through the roof! It’s like 70%! how do you have it so low!?

I used several techniques to reduce my bounce rate. Please check this article – http://www.technshare.com/reduce-bounce-rate to reduce the bounce rate.

The traffic seems cool.

On your new blog design..the design is elegant enough..loved it, though I feel that the links in the footer widget shouldn’t be having any text-decorations (indicating to underlines)

Fantastic work Dev – you’re really taking off, those are some fantastic traffic stats.

Popup Domination has seemed to really picked up and its a really excellent way to capture visitors. I hope I’ll eventually get around to it but for the meantime I’ll continue to write content :)

This month was excellent from all the various bloggers contributing – plenty of variety.

As for the new design, it’s looking great. I’m a big fan of the small thumnails on the popular posts cause it really catches the eye.

Honestly I don’t like the Popup Domination plugin, I think the pop up is annoying and doesn’t show respect to many readers. They will subscribe to newsletters manually when they find your blog useful.

Your alexa rank is 31K. Can you please tell me the figure that how much we can earn if I too have the same alexa rank. My blog’s alexa rank is 200k. Can you propose some ideas to bring it near to 60K.

I’ve seen the popup domination being used everywhere and with good reason as I understand now. I was actually considering paying out (however possible) the money to use Aweber because I thought it was a part of that but now I see I can keep MailChimp and use it at the same time. That’s awesome!

It’s cool that you share what’s happening behind the scenes of your blog.

Wow, you increase the opt-in rate to 250% – 300%. That’s impressive! I know Popup domination and increase the opt-in rate but can’t imagine it’s that much :)
