Professional blogging is easy, so easy that even the not so computer savvy can do it and do it well. This is why so many people find themselves becoming more and more attracted to the prospect of it, not only because of its simplicity, but also because of the money that lies in the potential of becoming a blogger. Most bloggers expect everything to happen all at once. Most bloggers become discouraged because nothing seems to be happening quickly enough or they don’t have enough people tracking their site. Most bloggers do not realize that a part of blogging is having that motivation to steadily continue. For the bloggers who are just starting out, it may seem like a long arduous road, but the end result can be very rewarding. Just be sure you know what you’re doing and also be sure that you know what you shouldn’t be doing.
You Should Not Be Considering Quitting Your Job
So, you’re blogging and finding that you’re acquiring more revenue from writing than you ever imagined possible. That’s great. Congratulations to you. Unfortunately, this does not mean you quit your 9 to 5 to be all about your blog. Believe it or not, that 9 to 5 is what pays your bills, for your food, your clothes, the gas you put in your car, and the list probably continues. A blog, although it has the ability to replace your need for your day job generally does not replace that. A blog, if successful can give a few extra hundred a month or even a thousand. The blog can provide the icing on the cake, but it cannot be the cake. Remember that. Don’t quit your job just because it looks like you’re successful. You probably are successful Blogger, but your job contributes to that.
You Should Be Learning Everything There is To Know About Blogging
Becoming a professional blogger involves becoming an expert with the know-hows in relation to blogging. Many people believe that by just knowing the basics, they have all the information they need to know about blogging. Wrong. There is so much more. It does not stop at writing. It does not stop at knowing what the word blog means or what blogs are. The subject of blogging expands to reach so much more than that. How do you advertise? How do you get money connected to your site? How do you get readers? What qualifies a blogger as being successful? Read up on this information, learn it, and recall it throughout the journey of your blogging experience.
You Should Not Be Getting Lost In the Jungle That Is Online
Although is great to do research to refer to what you want and don’t want for your blog, you should not spend all of your time searching and reading site after site after site after site. You should stop at three, or six at the most. Surfing the internet or indulging in time draining sites like Twitter and Facebook only takes away from time needed to make your blog the best blog it can be. Don’t get lost in the jungle, focus on the task at hand.
You Should Have a Good Time
Don’t make something that you’re supposed to be passionate about only act as a tool for making money. Yes, this is very possible, but it shouldn’t be your only reason for blogging. Have fun with your blog’s focal point and make sure that at any time the development of it all is not a tedious process for you. If you stop having fun, maybe you should stop what you’re doing. Readers can tell when you aren’t passionate about what you do. Probably even before you can.
I publish such small bits and pieces of information in my blog Socialat but trust me I’ll keep flowing my knowledge here at Technshare. Go gear up for some useful stuff and start Blogging.

Nice post bro! blogging is not a “Get rich quick scheme”. i love the no 1 point! keep the gud work up bro! thanks.
Hey Samuel,
That’s exactly right.
Thanks for the nice comment dude.
You’re right Samuel. Quitting a job is not a good idea untill and unless you’re making an awful steady amount. I’ve seen many bloggers quitting their job once they start earning a decent amount, but they don’t wait for he income to be stable. And in most cases they fail.
Cheers.

Really greay post Prasejnit,
You are absolutely right, starting is not the major game but keeping yourself motivated to continue.
Thanks a lot for the great post!
Hey Onibalusi,
Thanks for the awesome support man. Much Appreciated.
That’s the reason why the Blogging Gurus suggest to write a blog on a topic on which you have enough knowledge so that you never run out of content/content ideas.
So, I would say choosing the right topic is the most important step to start blogging.

Really nice post..
I especially agree with point #2 which talks about educating yourself as much as possible. Learning is a never ending venture and it needs up be done to succeed.
But along with learning comes taking action.. Without actually doing anything, you’ll see no results..
Thank for sharing this with us

Taking action is most important.
Thanks for the awesome comment.

Absolutely correct Hector. Very well said that “Learning is a never ending Venture”. If you want to survive in the online business, then you have to learn new ways to make money(if your intention is to make money). I have seen many bloggers who blog only to share their knowledge(as their personal online diary).
In this context, learning new ways and putting them together to take action is very important and should be done side-by-side.
Cheers,
Prasenjit.

Hey Praz!!
Very insightful post…
…..Many bloggers do get discouraged as they think nothing is happening quickly enough…..so very true….
This reminds me of a friend of mine, who really got serious about blogging a year ago….so serious that he quit his regular job to blog full time…It wasn’t that he wasn’t trying his best but within couple of months he used up all his savings and the money he made through blogging was nowhere close to sustaining his expenses. It took him 2 months to find another job and he always regretted leaving his first job. All this made him so frustrated that he completely stopped blogging….. This is a common scenario……
Thanks for shedding the light on the things one shouldn’t do while blogging and I am glad you mentioned not quitting a regular job for blogging before anything else…..
Keep up the good work brother…

Hi Adam,
Good that you liked my post Adam. Truly speaking, I’ve seen many bloggers(some of them my friends) who started off very well and took a wild decision of quitting their jobs. Sadly, they soon failed in the online business and sooner they had to search for a job.
So my suggestion to all is to never quit their job until you have a steady blog/website.

Great post on what not to do Prasenjit. Always go into making money online, writing for that matter with the thoughts that it’s not a here today, gone tomorrow mentality. It’s a growing process so you have to keep at it and hone your craft as the most important aspect about blogging is your voice. When you can communicate yourself to your audience, that is gold.
Great job on the awesome post!

I would say that this is one of my favorite comments Thu. You’ve got very good thoughts. Communicating yourself to your audience is very very important and that really is GOLD. Always remember that if your readers like what you write and they benefit from your posts, then that is a pleasure for the writer although the blogger might not be making a penny out of the reader. I strongly believe in this theory.

I don’t know about others, but I believe blogging can make a living and you should not think of having a job just because it could pay your rent, cars and etc… etc… by thinking about that you are limiting yourself to blogging better…

I would have to disagree with “Don’t quit your day job”.
Many of the “A-list bloggerS” out there talk about how you need to be motivated to make money online. Not having a job is definitely a motivator, if you ask me.
You will work harder if you need to make it work. It’s like running – if you are doing it for fun, you won’t go as fast as you would if you were being chased by a murderer.
To some extent I agree to you. But what if you started with zero and whatever you earn from your blog is not sufficient to run your family? So its always better to be safe than sorry. Who is stopping you from quitting your job. We all just want you to be successful.
Cheers,

I would have commented earlier, but the picture is too disturbing!!!
It looks like a woman who is about to be mugged, kidnapped, or worse.
So I had to scroll past the picture and start reading there, lol.
All of your points are right on. Definitely do not quit your day job to become a pro blogger! lol I would let that happen over time, if it’s to be.
That said, if you got laid off or are unemployed, why not? Do it – do anything! Better than waiting around for life to happen to you. Some people have had great successes early on.
The point about having fun is the best, though. If you’re not living passionately, with joy, having fun doing what you do, there’s no point. Life’s too short to waste on something you hate.

Hi Ajay,
I just visited your blog and the first impression is that “You have created your blog for Adsense”. My first suggestion is that you should not over-populate your blog with Ads as that will distract your readers and take them away from your blog. Moreover there’s less chance that you’ll get returning visitors.
First create a brand and then try to monetize it. Apart from that your theme looks pretty clean and decent.
Happy Blogging,
Praz.
