Email marketing is one of the most widely applied marketing tools and is vital for reaching those who are not at the cutting edge of the social media scene.
One of the best ways to reach an audience outside of your blog is with a weekly newsletter that informs subscribers of the latest posts and promotions your blog has to offer.
The following are 5 great ideas for promoting your blog via email.
1. Marketing services
First, find and use a dedicated service for email marketing to automate backend systems for opting in, list management, and unsubscribes. Between the management, tracking, permissions and spam issues, using a business or personal email account just won’t cut it.
Easy opt-in forms, statistics on sign-ups, open rates, and click rates are all available with email marketing services that are designed to help you follow the best practices in the industry.
2. Social media
Promote your blog by directing the traffic on your social media sites to the opt-in forms on your website.
It is important for your social media followers to not only be fans of your brand but subscribers of your newsletter as well. In this way, subscribers will receive notices from the newsletter about updates on your blog, which can further be promoted by your fans in the social network.
3. Summarization
Occasionally, summarize content in the newsletter that you already wrote in the blog to provide new material in emails to subscribers who have recently joined your mailing list.
The idea is not to offer digests of your current blog posts but to summarize your blog content by topic or subject in order to connect readers with more related content from previous posts.
4. Repurpose blog posts
Repurpose and re-use blog posts within your email newsletters to get the most from the content you create. Try writing a blog post, then using the first half as an email newsletter article with a link to continue reading the full article on your blog.
In doing this, email subscribers who have not yet sampled your blog will be driven to the blog on a regular basis. Also, remember that getting readers in front of your content in your preferred context will enhance your ability to drive conversion or sales.
5. Provide incentives
In order to get people to visit your blog, you have to know what to give them so that you can provide the correct incentive. Always explain what the incentives are in terms of what the prospective client will get.
If there is a sales page to come after clicking a link, do not reveal the price. The job of the sales page is to explain everything the prospective client needs to realize the value of what they will receive for the price.
Emails should work together with your social media sites to distribute content and forge stronger ties between potential and existing clients. Utilize social media and email marketing to zero in on your audience, grab their attention, and successfully promote your blog.

Yo,
Having made a living off of email marketing for a few years now I can add that it is not only useful, it may simply be the best method out there.
Now this system works best when you DO NOT constantly pour offer after offer to your readers. The better your do with giving nothing but solid content (and of course a few “read my posts”) the better it tends to be.
Hopefully some people will take this for action.
I agree that Email Marketing is the best way to promote your blog.
I have been doing sending out emails manually and automatically using a software. But in your opinion what is the best way to do it? manual or auto?
Earlier I was unaware of this fact that an email could be the best way to do marketing for blog,

All points are perfect for get much visitor on site but i like #5 “”Provide incentives”" this option might be very helpful to increase the number of visitors on your blog and force to them leave a comment on that.
Good tips, an email newsletter can really help you get a lot of traffic for your blog, a good way to make your subscribers open the emails that you send it’s send them every week or month a free give away, it could be an ebook, a software etc
This can work as great incentive and will lead to a hight open rate of your emails and as a result more traffic for your blog…

Nice post for promoting your Bblog via email
Awesome tips. I agree that it is the best method to earn cash online. The key is to treat your list right. Let them know what they will be getting upfront and stick to what you promised. Value 80%, marketing 20%.
We’ve been learning that email marketing is quite powerful. We send out an email with updates and it’s like POW! Instant increase in not only sales but traffic.
Not everyone has the time to browse their social networks, but they certainly have the time to open an email, especially to one that they’ve subscribed to.
Repurposing blogs are also a really great idea! Turning them into audio, video, slideshow, etc, can really bring in a lot more traffic than just simply posting a written blog.
Thanks for this!

Social media will help a lot by giving the awareness of your new content or even new products if you do sell products through your blog.

You always here “the money is in the list” but in reality there is a ton of “traffic in the list” as well.
I think your first tip is crucial. I know a lot of people hesitate to fork out the money for a service like Aweber thinking it’s too expensive but with all that’s involved in managing thousands of subscribers there really is no other viable (and safe) option. Plus those people who would hesitate to spending that same $20 or $30 monthly would have absolutely no problem spending twice that trying to increase their sales or traffic (which their list can do for them anyway).
Thanks for sharing Yo

Hi,
I am not from the same business but I have read in different posts that email marketing plays an important role in promoting your business. Email account is a very important thing to be a good blogger. If you may manage emails that you are sending to others, it will be really helpful for you to be successful in business line.
Hi Yo Noguchi,
I must say this is a very clever way on how to promote one’s blog. I never really thought that you can do many ways on how to promote a blog via email. I agree with Steve, though, that to promote effectively a blog, one must not bombard their subscribers with many emails, as it may irritate the subscribers instead of attracting them to visit your blog. Quality content excerpts must be offered here so that people will want to read the rest of it on your blog.

Social networks have enormous marketing potential, if used in a proper way. Great article.
On my blog I find that facebook and twitter really boost the visibility of my website. So I would say social media marketing is the way to go. Always ensure to use that twitter feed symbol on the blog so people will know what your all about.
