Bloggers often face many enemies throughout their whole blogging careers. We may often work overtime to deliver on content that still may not live up to the expectations of readers or may be short-lived because another blogger writes a much better post. We are always going to meet setbacks that will slow our improving down by days and people whom we learn to hate because they do a better job, even though its a topic their not interested in. This enemy that we can create with the people around as is a major flaw that will only make things worse for us as writers. Our biggest enemy is not others but rather ourselves.
You will hate what you do:
No matter how hard you work or try, you will always hate what you do, something will always get in the way and you will hate it to the point of madness yet spend no time or to much time trying to fix it, and still end up nowhere. Even if you do something positive which your readers like, you will still look to all the flaws and hate what you have done.
You will unnecessarily compete with others:
Quickly, through blogging you will notice that everyone around you may be doing better than what you are doing. These people will quickly become your enemies when they are just your fellow bloggers. If you compete and always try to be better than them then you will get nowhere. You should be focusing your energy on working with those people to learn and improve from them rather than fight them.
You will never stick with what you have:
Everything that we work on we will quickly forget and move on. We will spend days even months working on something like a blog template and then spend only a few seconds thinking all the work was rubbish, hitting the delete button and calling it quits even though if you ask anyone else, what you have done is impressive.
You will never recognize the achievements you have made:
Everything and every small milestone is worth considering as it is the small things that keep us going as bloggers. Getting another hundred feed burner subscribers may seem like a small achievement but it is this that will keep us powering on. Still we don’t take advantage of this and we fail to recognize the achievements we have made and this brings us down as we do not think we have done anything successful, ever.
You will allow blogging to get in the way of your life:
Blogging has a strange hypnotizing effect where we think that what we are doing will benefit our lives, obviously this doesn’t happen, and so, we end up spending all our time doing something that we know will do nothing or be of very little advantage to us in the long run. We are our own worst enemies, we let blogging get in the way of what’s important in our lives.
Conclusion:
In every aspect, others are not our enemies it’s only ourselves. We make those people our enemies even though they have done absolutely nothing wrong. We need to step outside the square, read over what I have written and try to think how you can avoid all these things. You will be a better person on the whole if you do so. Your blog will also follow suit and so will the people around you. So stop being your own worst enemy and start building upon what you know. Your the only one your letting down if your the enemy of yourself.

I guess the only thing that can demotivate you is your own self (others will have an effect, of course, but at the end of the day, it’s you who decide

Nice post man! hating successful people is a very “BAD” idea, thanks man for the post. keep the good work up.
I think everybody gets sick of the politics at some point, like what you said with unnecessary competition. We need to work with ourself though, instead of working against yourself.

Hi Peter
You make a great point here but I never hate myself nor I consider my friend as a competitor. It makes me feel good if they achieve something.I never want to come first only wants to help people doing blogging.Money is useless for me if it has works nothing for my customer.
You really make good points and everyone should remember it.
Thanks For Sharing

Peter,
It is very easy to fall into the trap of being our own worst critic and our own worst enemy.

I agree that we can become our own worst enemies, and these are great points to watch out for.

It’s so true, the problem with blogging is we rarely control the one thing we can, ourselves, and to be successful we need to learn how to do that

Not sticking with what I have got or what I have achieved by working hard…..This used to be a huge problem for me….As a matter of fact, it still is a problem. Sometimes I have to force myself to stop thinking that way…and think twice before I say I quit and delete something that took me days to construct…I know I need to completely eradicate this kind of thought out of my head….
Thank you for the post Peter…..Your post reminds me of the times when I really become my worst enemy…..
We can all fall into this; The one thing i try to do is not read over my previous work because i know that i have the temptation to hit the delete because my writing is probably rubbish

Yeah..I know what you are saying…But as a blogger, shouldn’t we go over our previous post and see if everything still makes sense…or there are no mistakes…Or maybe we shouldn’t just like you said….What do you think about this Peter?

Hi,
Great point. Sometimes we are our own enemy, and we ourselves get in our way of success. We need to have a positive attitude and follow these points to stay ahead of the game!

Unless you are blogging for nothing more than hobby, then blogging will actually get in the way of your normal life initially. That is a good thing. But it is important to get back to normal after you have built your brand, and make sure you nurture it from then on.

This type post is right up my alley….
I can try and sum it up with just one word…”FEAR”.
Fear will hold back from everything. If you find yourself coming from a place of fear–just ask….who have I NOT forgiven?
Once you release everyone (including yourself) you’ll release the fear that holds you back.
Good luck,
Johnny
The most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. And the best thing possible is that you love yourself… and… you are lucky to find someone else who loves that same you.
We often take refuge in our own weaknesses. It’s one of the main reasons we can stay stuck in dysfunctional relationships, jobs….and LIFE.
Here’s a funny little question…..
Have you ever noticed that when you have problems in life-you are always there?
If you believe that we create our own reality…then you absolutely, unconsciously attracted those problems into your life; and it started with your thoughts.
