How to Make Affiliate Marketing Process Effective?

Affiliate Marketing is one of the most profitable business where you sell products or services on potential customers through different channels. One of the most effective and working channel is Email Marketing. Where you send a email to a user including your affiliate link of a product or service. Similarly there are other channels through which you can earn commission from products and services. For Example blogs, forums, article submission, landing pages, social media websites and so on..

Depending on the channel you use, you can use different tools and tips  to make your affiliate marketing process effective. Here are few tools and tips that you can use to measure your affiliate marketing success.

1. Tracking Tools

One of the essential tool that will need to track visitors to your affiliate link is tracking tool. In all popular email marketing clients like Aweber and Mailcimp there are bulletin tools that help you in tracking your affiliate links. For example it show you the number of clicks on a affiliate link, the number of readers who open a email etc..

2. Redirection Tools

It is very important to hide your affiliate link and let the reader click on a link that looks like a normal link. In this way you can increase clicks on your affiliate links and ultimately earning. There are lots of tools available for this purpose, for example URL shortners and other paid tools.

For wordpress bloggers there is a very handy plugin called Gocodes through which affiliate links can be hide and track.

3. Other Tools

There are plenty of other tools available through which you can make your affiliate marketing process effective. For example wordpress bloggers can use Ninja Affiliate Plugin to automatically convert all the keywords into affiliate links. In this way every keyword that is related to a product or service is automatically linked to the its affiliate link. Keywords in all over the posts, pages and comments are linked to the affiliate link and thus you get lots of clicks on your affiliate links.

One of the key factor in affiliate marketing is traffic. The more traffic you bring the more chances of sales. Depending on the nature of product and the way you present matters a lot. If a product is unique then chances are that most of your visitors will get converted to customers, but if a product is competitive then you need lot of traffic to make sales.

5. Social Communities

For instant sale participate in social communities and keep engage with people. The chances of sale are greater in social communities websites. However you need to build network, join groups and participate in every activities to bring people to your product blog, website or page.

Interesting post! Thank you for a great read.
Another great thing when affiliate marketing is to give away a free report with your affiliate links scattered throughout it. If you make sure the information is fantastic and valuable, your report will be saved and cherished by many. This is a solid and proven affiliate marketing process.

I have been doing affiliate marketing for years and I can certainly attest to the fact that it is one of the best and easiest money makers online. that is not to say the streets are paved with gold, it still takes a lot of hard work, but it is far easier than some of the other options, particularly for a person just starting out.

I also agree 110% with your statement that of getting a solid footing in email lists. I really do believe that the “money is in the list” even though that saying is overused and a bit trite, it is very true.

Thanks for giving out some solid info on some of the basic important aspects of affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing can be very effective when done correctly. The key is to partner with someone that offers products or services that are related to what you offer. If the audiences aren’t similar you likely won’t benefit from the affiliate.

Mike January 26, 2011 at 7:15 pm

Besides those above, what you really need is a building list strategy. Without a list, you will find affiliate marketing difficult and lose a lot of profits from your campaign. A good list of 10,000 subscribers can bring you $300 each day by promoting products to them. I have seen affiliate with 300,000 subscribers make a decent living out of his list and he is continue to grow. So, building a list is definitely a must!

I would also add gaining trust and setting yourself as an expert in your field. And when I say expert, I don’t mean telling people that you are a guru, but demonstrating it by providing great content that will be helpful to most of your readers (because you know you can’t please everybody).

And like Mike said, having a great responsive list is definitely a step forward. Of course, if you have enough trust you can do it without the list ;)

Hi Bilal,
From a bloggers point of view, affiliate marketing is a good way to supplement your blog. How yoy recommend the products is the most important thing. Writing a review or a blatant sales pitch will get you nowhere. Putting a unique spin, or showing people how they will profit with said product is a great way to make sales. It’s worth going that extra mile to make it count.

Hi Bilal,

Great tips you are sharing here. I so agree with Pete… I don’t promote by writing reviews. I share how the product has helped me in my business and then make a “soft” recommendation.

People read reviews all over the place, so being different will make you more sales :) Also, new marketers tend to think affiliate marketing is easy. Well, it does take time to achieve the level of success you desire. Done correctly, it can be very powerful.

Thanks for sharing these tips. Bilal.

All the best,

Hey Bilal,

Affiliate marketing is definitely a profitable business when you know how to do it right. Great advice about using redirection tools like the Gocodes plugin to hide your affiliate link to make it look normal. It is very important to hide your affiliate link and let the reader click on a link that looks like a normal link. Most people are intimidated by long, funny looking urls and won’t even click the link. Thanks for sharing your insights.
