I do sleep. Seriously, I do.

Some ask me when I find the time to sleep because I’m so busy creating mountains of content. I’ve pulled back over the past few months to network but feel a surge coming on again, like the good ole‘ days.

I post once a day on RBs Keys. I write a few guest posts each day. The number is subject to jump up to 10 at any moment because I know me. I know RB.

I’ve penned 300 blog posts. I’ve written over 500 cash gifting articles. I’ve authored over 1000 inspirational quotes. I’ve crafted 15 eBooks. I’ve uploaded over 600 youtube videos…..and I have to admit, the stuff is pretty good too ;) All usable content.

The idea I want to convey to you is that it becomes easier to create loads of content when you follow a few basic steps. I was an unemployed pier guard a few years ago who didn’t know the first thing about running a blog, writing keyword rich articles, creating youtube videos or cash gifting. Now I know much more, and it started with……

Become a Master Decision Maker

You either choose to create content each day or you don’t. You say “I’m going to do it!” Or you say “I’m too tired, it’s not worth it, I have to read The Onion now,” or throw in whatever excuse you’ve used in the past.

Write down a number. 1 post. 1 guest post. 1 article. Whatever. Write the number down at the beginning of the day and hit it, no matter what. No matter how uncomfortable you feel. Do it.

Decide and do it, and it becomes a habit. Eventually you might shoot 50 videos in a day, or write 12 articles in 10 hours. You got used to writing a few articles a day and wanted to raise the bar for yourself. The beginnings of a content creating juggernaut.

Make Personal Development Your Best Friend

My surges of creativity started after reading the biographies of people like Arnold Schwarzenegger. The dude pushed it to the limits. It inspired me to do the same.

Look at creative geniuses of the past or current day. They created persistently. Hours in the studio or in the lab. Day after day. They fell in love with their craft and created content like mad.

Set Aside Quiet Time

Everything is in you.

You can become a billionaire right now because billionaire thoughts reside in you. The problem? There’s some part of you that thinks this is impossible, that makes every excuse that you can’t do it: your background, the criticism people will send your way, whatever.

Being quiet brings these limiting beliefs to the front of your mind. Identify them. Experience them. Let them go.

After releasing the limiting beliefs the billionaire ideas slowly begin to trickle in. The process feels magical but it’s quite normal. The key is to be quiet so you can ID these feelings.

Set an intent. “I am a successful business person.” “I am a millionaire.” Whatever creates a strong emotion.

Proceed to either meditate for at least 20 minutes a day or simply sit in a quiet spot and let your thoughts come to a quiet stop. Watch what comes up. Many times thoughts of why “You Can’t” do spectacular things arise.

Face, embrace and release these thoughts. Now the “Can Do” thoughts hit you. You’re getting to your billionaire core. Good! Ride the creative surge and don’t stop.

Your Turn, Guys

How do you create content like a mad person?

Great article Ryan, I think one of the foremost reason I fail in creating a lot of content is because I am too lazy. Like you said “I am too tired, I will work tomorrow”, I think my brain ruled by procrastination although I have been trying a lot to overcome it and slowly being able to do so too. I hope someday I can also create quality contents like you. By the way, 15 ebooks, 500 articles..wow ..man you really are inspirational. Keep up the good work mate and keep inspiring people like us

For me, I write like I’m talking, rant like I’m rapping and so content flow seamlessly…

I enjoy writing just that sometimes I need to push myself to actually write. Doing it everyday becomes a ‘good habit’.

Ryan,
Good to “meet” you. Devish posted this at Blog Interact. I think this is my first visit to Tech-n-Share. I am a freelance writer, so I know what it’s like to have to create content “like a madman”. My work is so diverse, so I have to get in that niches “mode”. It could be this topic w/ 20 articles to write one day and another completely different topic with only 5 articles. Believe it or not, I don’t even have my own blog – don’t have time! Great read – Mikel L.

I find myself super productive when I set myself numbers, as you say, and then work for it no matter what happens. Personal development has always been my friend; more importantly that I write about it on my blog, I think I have to practice it myself first before preaching.

Great article Ryan.

Marcus Baker March 7, 2011 at 4:13 pm

Hi Ryan,

I agree with your tips for generating content.

Of course I think creating content can be hugely beneficial but only if what you are creating truly is of value to others.

Every piece of content we publish says something more about us and there’s not much sense in contributing to the “noise overload” online unless it is doing us and others some good.

Hi Marcus, Excellent point. If we create just to create we are adding to the noise. Think through your content, add something of value each time you hit the Publish button for everything has your signature on it, whether you pen one or not. Thanks for sharing! RB

You gave some great advice in this post Ryan. It definitely does become a lot easier to produce a lot of content when you follow certain steps. I especially agree with the advice you gave to read the biographies of people that inspire you.

Great people like Arnold Schwarzenegger definitely pushed it to the limits and fell in love with their craft, and I find when I get inspired I can create a lot of top notch content like a mad person without much problems. Thanks for sharing your insights Ryan, much appreciated.

Hi Ryan,
This is a very inspirational post on how one is able to write more each day. I think this post of yours is about procrastination in many ways, if you don’t want to do it, then you have many excuses; but if you want to do it no matter what, then it is possible to achieve your goals. It sure is hard to write every time with content that has quality, but it sure is very inspiring that you wrote this – someone who has written so many valuable articles and even 15 ebooks! Wow!

Satrap March 9, 2011 at 6:50 am

Ryan, I agree 100% about the fact that writing down your to do list absolutely helps you do it. I was struggling for a while with writing content, but once I started making daily plans, it got easier and easier. I simply write the plan on a piece of paper. It looks like this:
1 post a day for the blog
1 guest post
submit 5 articles a day to 5 directories
comment on 5 blogs
and so on…

Believe me if I (with 2 day time job, having only 3-4 hours a day to work on my online business) can do this, anyone can do it. Its amazing how much you can get done once you start a plan and stick with it.

Hi and thanks for the post! I use your list idea and it works great. I make a traffic generating plan for the whole week and stuff the plan full of content creating activities. I have never been able to finish my whole list but I get so much more done now that it seems crazy to look back on it. The list helps so much, I think of it as do or die trying! It ‘s good to know that other people are creating even more content than I am. Have to raise the daily goals!

Ryan,

Wow, those are really impressive numbers. I admire your push to the limit attitude. I do create articles daily but nowhere near as close to the amount you can create there. I think the important thing is to keep the motivation going on. Silence that part of you that is being negative and do the tasks that will bring you to success.
