Business analytics platform and its various aspects

It is undeniable that developing new insights can be a lot easier if you have the right platform for business analytics with you. Otherwise, in the absence of the right platform, you may or may not be able to have a clear understanding of the business performance. Of course, unless you have a clear picture, you may not be able to make decisions, at least not the informed ones. Furthermore, with data volumes increasing with each passing day, it is even more imperative than before for you to find a platform that can come in handy when you want deeper analytic insights.

Features to look for

When dealing with data deluge, i.e. large volumes of data, you can easily make the right decisions if only you have the right platform to begin with.  However, if you do get a data analytics platform, chances are that you will also have to look for some data scientists especially if the platform does not come with pre-defined modules. Keeping this in mind, it is advisable that you only choose a platform which is ready to use and does not necessarily demand the involvement of quants or data scientists. At the same time, if you already have some business analysts working for you, make sure that they need not learn any new interface.

Features that can’t be ignored

As long as you are dealing with large data volumes, you need to ensure that the platform which you choose has the capability of delivering exceptional scalability. Again, along with scalability, there are several other features that cannot be ignored when making the choice, with ease of usage being one of them. Furthermore, if possible, look for a platform that is not solely dependent on SQL; in fact, try and get a platform that also brings MapReduce into the picture and helps you make the most of the two. Last but not least, you may have to specifically look for relevant adaptors for integration and connectivity purposes.

Features that are worthwhile

The right platform for business analytics can make it easier for you to achieve your goal of faster analytic processing. At the same time, as you are likely to develop deeper insights, it will be much easier for you to increase your advertising revenue, depending upon the decisions that you make. Interestingly, advertising is not the only aspect of your business that is likely to witness an increase in terms of the revenue as cross selling will also come to the forefront.

Why not get help from a Data Expert or seek help from data vendors who could do the job. Now a days, technology has grown and there are alternatives to take care of things.
