Many people are trying all they could to make sure they become a blogging success but they keep up trying to achieve success to no avail, they keep writing more great content, doing their best to promote and still they cannot show anything for it.

You shouldn’t drive yourself in another person’s boat but rather perfect what works for you. Because everybody are in the blogging and make money online niche does not mean you will be a success in that niche.

Analysis is a very powerful tool because it can help you determine whether you are on the right track or not but it is a pity many are no longer using this tool.

Analyze The Data – There Might Be a Need For Improvement!

It is very important to always analyze your blog’s success and then compare it to past months and years. If you analyze your blog and you see that you are in the same place you are in the past six months then you should know there is a need for a change.

The change you need might be a little tweaking here and there or better still, a change of niche.

It is also very important to not only analyze your blog but also analyze your niche, you can go into Google and type the major keywords and their variations into Google and try to observe who is holding that position, if you see it is the same company/blog that comes up always, you might also want to research deeper into that blog and know if that niche is where you are supposed to be.

After Analyzing, What Next?

This is the most important question, it is even more important than analyzing your blogging strategy.

If you analyze your blogging strategy and you see that things are not okay or things are not how you expect them to be, the next thing to do is to REWORK your strategy.

If you are not experiencing your desired level of traffic success, you can decide to rework your traffic building strategy, for example, if you make 10 comments a day, you might want to increase it to thirty. If you write 2 guest posts a month, you might want to increase it to 2 a week.

The truth is, there is no point in analyzing when you are not ready to make a change. The main reason for analyzing your blogging results should be because you want to make a change.

Another problem you might be experiencing might be little to no newsletter/feed signups or little to no comments, in this case you might want to improve your call to action.

Some Important Tools

Some Important tools you might need when trying to analyze your blogging success are listed below.

1. Google Analytics: This is one of the best statistics programme, it also has a goal tracking system that you can use to track concersions.

2. Google Optimizer: This is another great tool you might want to consider when trying to split test.

This is great info, doing some research before picking a niche is very important, making sure the niche gets a lot of traffic is important to check and also the amount of competition the niche has.

You are right. Doing some research first is really important before jumping in to something. Making sure the niche is getting steady traffic is also important because without traffic, it’s really useless.

You are right Onibalusi, it is very important to analyze things while blogging since human being tend to do mistakes and we may have done many mistakes while planning and executing the plan. I think it is important to find those mistakes and then rectify them. Like you said if we are not getting the expected traffic then we should increase the volume of commenting and guest blogging. It is also important to recognize the niche like you said

Great point Onibalusi.

And I completely agree with it. If your current strategy is not working, then you need to re analyse your strategy, and implement your new strategy.

Kindest,
Nabeel

I agree with that. Sometimes it takes awhile to find what works. There is nothing wrong with trying something new.

You are definitely right there Nabeel. Not just in blogging or online business, but in general as well. If it’s not working properly for you, then time to analyze and come up a new strategy.

Gary

Whilst I do agree, I do think the traffic gaining strategy can be a little flawed.

Say for example you are gaining 0 clickthroughs from blog comments with 10 comments, it’d be highly inefficient to increase comments to – say – 30 (3 times 0 is still 0!).

Always look for more & accentuate the biggest traffic gaining sources.

Hi Rhys,

I also disagree with you, this is not a multiplier effect.

If you gain 0 visitors from blog commenting, this does not necessarily mean you will also gain 0 from 30 comments.

The main point is change and if you are not getting traffic from blog commenting you can as well give guest posting a trial.

What do you think?

Thanks a lot,

I’d counter & say that realistically you should be guest posting as well as commenting, building an email list, seo, article marketing & having an active presence on social media. Shouldn’t sacrifice one for the other, and if somethings work, eccentuate them, and drop the ones that don’t work.

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Some people may say “if it aint broke, don’t fix it” but if that were always true we would not have the “version 3″ or “version 4″ of products that were pretty good at “version 1″.

It’s always good to go back and look at what you have accomplished as everyones goal, even life itself, is to grow and if you don’t see growth there there’s gotta be something wrong and the problem must be addressed and changes must be applied accordingly.

Just be careful not to veer too off course into uncharted waters as you could cause more harm than good to your blog if venturing into things you have never tried before or are unfamiliar with.

Analyzing your blogging strategies is a step in the right direction as this helps you to know what works and what doesn’t work. Most times people spend time on strategies that yield little or no results.

So, as you continue to run your blog or business you one also needs to take time off and see what strategies pays and what doesn’t off.

Thanks for another great post of yours, Onibalusi!

Continually evolving is the secret to success.

Those that don’t change over time will slowly die out because there are always younger, faster and smarter people to take over.

As you’ve mentioned, you have to see what worked in the past but also adapt for what’s changing.
